Are you wondering why you do not feel very well a lot of the time? You might just be getting older. Or it could be that your body is keeping a hold of too many toxins. A toxin includes anything that is poisonous to your body. There are many signs that indicate you may have a build up of toxins in your body. Here are some of the main signs.
1. Extra Weight
If you have been trying to lose weight with exercise and calorie counting and it has not been working, your toxic levels could be the reason. Many toxins are lipophilic. Lipophilic means that they are stored in your body fat. Lipophilic toxins include dioxins, poly-chlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) which are a group of manufactured organic chemicals, and many different pesticides. When you have too many of these toxins built up in your body, it is almost impossible to lose weight.
2. Unexplained Exhaustion
If you are getting at least eight hours of sleep and you still wake up feeling exhausted, your toxic levels could be the reason. A high toxic level causes extra stress on your body. Long-term stress from a high toxic load could lead to adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue will leave you feeling run-down and exhausted. Some toxins will directly disrupt adrenal function. Caffeine is known to have a negative affect on your adrenals.
If your body is stressed out due to a high toxic level, your cortisol levels can go crazy. Cortisol is a hormone that your body will release to help you deal with stress. Normal cortisol levels are high in the morning and low in the evening. When your cortisol level is out of balance, the levels could be too high in the evening. This will give you a really energetic feeling. You then will not be able to fall to sleep. Having insomnia will cause many health problems for you. It is extremely important to go to bed on time, and to sleep at least eight hours a day.
4. Fuzzy Thinking
Many toxins will directly affect your brain. They can give you a feeling of being spaced out. Aspartame and MSG are excitotoxins. They will literally excite your brain cells to death. Aspartame can be found in many sugar-free drinks, diet foods, and toothpastes. MSG can be found in many processed foods.
5. Unexplained Headaches
If you have regular, unexplained headaches, it could mean that your toxic level is too high. Some common toxins that cause headaches include aspartame and MSG. There are many other toxins that will also lead to headaches. These include heavy metals, artificial colorings, and artificial preservatives.
6. Mood Swings
Mood swings can indicate that your hormones are out of balance. Some toxins, known as xenoestrogens, will cause hormonal imbalances in both women and men. Xenoestrogens are synthetic compounds. They act just like estrogen in your body. Some sources of xenoestrogens include industrial compounds like PCBs, BPA, and phthalates. If you can avoid plastics, this should reduce your xenoestrogen level.
7. Bad Body Odor
If you have bad breath or foul-smelling gas and stools, this could indicate your toxic level is too high. Your liver and colon are probably having some difficulty getting rid of toxins. You can help your liver by taking milk thistle, doing a coffee enema, or doing a liver flush (which uses olive oil and lemon juice). Liver flushes are a little difficult and take a lot of planning. Coffee enemas are much easier. Both are extremely effective ways to detoxify the liver.
If you think your toxic levels are too high, it is important to reduce your exposure to toxins. Eating organic food, keeping well hydrated, and getting a sensible amount of exercise can really help you.
